Hey, i just did mine back in october... I had very little fuss from my passenger side axle, it was in there, but not nearly as well as my drivers side. I ended up using a four foot pry bar on the back side as my dad tapped the front side of the tripod housing with a hammer to get it loose.

As for going back in, they'll be STUPID hard to get in sometimes. Basically the strategy to beat the tranny in this instancei t keep trying different orientations. My passenger side i got third try, drivers side, i had to "put" in. Basically, just get under the car, then take the spline and try to put it in. If it doesn't go in super easy, take it out, rotate it a bit, and try again. If this doesn't work, and you've tried multiple angles with no success, then place it in line, and as nerd said, gently hit it into the diff. You'll know when they're fully in, cause the tripod housing will be almost touching the transaxle, and it'll click in place.

Good luck, and whatever you do, don't have both axles out of the transmission at the same time!
