The pod that i just slammed on (stock piping) did the usual, nice induction noise and a very slight power gain. With that mod i was able to sit neck to neck with my mates Ford Lazer KH automatic (1.6L carby) in a race.

With this plus a cannon on the back i can stay infront of him for the whole race.

At around 4,000RPM there is a slight kick in the higher end of revs. Dosnt feel to be much loss of torque as you would come to expect with these sorta mods. I guess the heat shield would have more effect then the piping, but it has opened the front end up abit.

Thanks for the complements guys

very tidy job mate... indeed... very similar to my set-up... but I dont have the 2 braided hoses on mine. That has confused me. What are those two outlets from the main pipe for? and what do they do or where do they go to ???? When mine was done I didnt have those two outlets.... <confussed>

thats slick man but just so its out there you can just get little filters to plug into the stock pipes so that you dont have to weld a new nipple in the intake when making a home made one

The smaller one is the PVC, its function is to route oil gases from the engine in to the air intake so it can be burn up, instead of just dumping it on the ground like the pre smog vehicles.

For a person new to fabrication and who wasnt generally a handy or physically inclined person then this project would be fairly difficult maybe a 7 or 8. If you are good with your hands and making stuff this will be easy 2 or 3.

I brought the steel and then began to mark out and position how i wanted things to go, checking for clerance and such. Marked the angle and orientation of the pipes so the ends would line up to be welded. My mate did the welding. I drilled afew holes etc and dissabled the stock intake. Not a hard project all in all
