Over at the AMC Eagle Nest we are trying to start a strategy to get the Oil Companies to lower there price of gasoline the tactic is like this:
As of June 1st You will keep buying the regular amount of gasoline you usually do, the only thing just don’t buy from any Chevron Gasoline Stations, get what ever you need from any other brand of Gasoline Station doesn’t matter if they get it from a Chevron Refinery as long as it is not market as Chevron.
If you are a member of any other Forum or post any where ells pass this information on.

Yeah but why stick it to Chevron? From what I've seen in performance, Chevron is the highest quality fuel. I don't care on my cars, I usually end up at Sam's club because it's cheapest, I'm just wondering your logic...

Because it only needs to affect one of the big Co. and if they start lowering there prices the rest will fallow in order to stay competitive.
And Chevron is one of the most popular, this is not cause of there product quality its cause of the price.

This is just dumb. First of all, Chevron wouldn't even notice if a bunch of disaffected forum nerds didn't buy their gasoline. Look at the total number of active car people that post on forums. Maybe.... 100,000 for all models? I bet not that much. Now how many millions of cars are on the road? So, fewer than one percent of the normal Chevron buyers buy somewhere else for a while.

They would never even notice.

If you REALLY want to catch the oil companies' attention, start carpooling or usuing public transportation. Start voting for candidates with strong platforms for the development of more efficient public transportation... or even become such a candidate. Then, maybe you'll make a difference. But face the facts; if people can afford higher gas prices, they may grumble a bit, but most Americans are just plain too lazy to do anything about it.

Circulating an email or making a post to an internet forum is not activism, folks.

stop complaing and just pay the asking price for petrol no matter what it costs... theres simply nothing you can do, no matter how much you whinge or whine.

And look at this way, consider yourself lucky you even have the privelage to drive a car, instead of catching public transport. There are so many people out there who dont even drive or can afford a car. Its a luxury item in life, not a necessity.
Be gratefull dudes...

SPIRO NO! That is a terrible attitude to have about fuel prices! When a barrel gets sold to Exxon in Saudi Arabia it costs $13, somewhere in between there and the refinery it goes up to $250? You are OK with that? There is gauging going on at EVERY level! I guess other countries have been paying LOTS for gas for a long time, but in the US, we haven't been over $2.00 until the last couple of years for a gallon! Right now in the US of the 34 refinery's (non new in 30 years, explain that one) 12 of them are not up and running due to maintence issues. If they were up and running we'd be at $1.90/gallon. The government at this point needs to step in and either help, being that this can be considered a crisis, or put their thumbs on the companies to get fixed NOW!

There is more oil sitting in Alaska than in the entire middle east. There is more Oil from Shale sitting in Wyoming than the entire earth would need for the next 300 years. WHY ARE WE NOT USING IT? W

BOTTOM LINE: We need to keep asking questions, and complaining, if anything is going to change!

actually on this note... maybe we can start a new thread on converting the LiL festy/aspire to LPG. How good would that be... an LPG aspire. Would cost like $10 Ozzie Dollars to fill.... LOL !

High price of gasoline doesn’t only affects you at the fuel pump but every thing and I mean every thing goes up to cover the cost of higher gasoline price and even if you use public transport the cost of it goes up.
Not a bad idea converting a Ford Aspire to gas. I remember back in the early 70's oil shortage most pick ups down here had a gas conversion on them. You just need to remember that gas is more dangerous then gasoline.

just my two cents.. but.... we dont even have a chevron gas station in the north...

AND i have a refinery about 10 miles away from me....
its the BP plant..

and the plant is running at full bore.. 24 hrs a day

gas is still 3.40 here...

i agree with spiros idea...
theres nothing boycoting one gas pump is going to do for ya....
and the minal amount of people online reading these posts wont help...

complaining will get you no where...
eather eat the pig.
pay the price
or do something thats gona help....

are any of us multi millionares??

i shure as hell am not...

i cant build my own plant..

some one make yer way up and become president...

and grab bush by the balls and tell him to pull his stock and start paying
what we have to pay for things...

insted of using his little president perks and geting plane trips free..... all over the world..

and stop using the gas perk and start pumping your own gas...
caus yea.. all that CRAP he does... COSTS US MONEY

my two cents and aint no one gona change my mind.

i only pay 3.09 a gallon and i thought that that was bad

the only good thing is that i get 60+ per gallon and i am really mean to my car

last time i had to fill up i seriously had 675 miles on my trip meter so it dosnt affect me very much because all i do is change my oil every 12000 miles (mobile 1 extended performance 5w 30) and keep my fluids clean and i do a fuel system cleaner once a month

my point is that good car maintenance is all you need for car to be very good on fuel

oh and stop whining and just be glad u drive one of the most fuel efficient cars on the road fordaspire/WOOT.gif

No way in the world you can be talking about an Aspire. That's almost 50% better than anything anyone else here has gotten. I call BS. Did you forget to set your trip meter between fillups or something?

I'm still calling shenanigans. While I myself have cleared over 40 with an aspire, check out fueleconomy.gov, There is NO WAY that anyone ever got over 50 out of an aspire. Especially when nobody ever got that out of a Festiva that has the same engine, but the car is lighter.

ok im gonna take care of two birds with one stone here

first gadelbert i use pure synthetic oil, 89 octane gas, and changed the filter to a cone. also, i have very lightweight nissan rims (came on my car) with a/t tires. my aspire is my baby and in my eyes it deserves only the best and i guess it paid off in the long run until my "buddy" stole, dragged, and totaled it. i dont have any proof other than my word but i did get 67.5 miles as my best and i was consistantly running in the mid to high 50's

oh and to gil, check out this link
