Hi,

I need an oil change to my Kia Avella, do you think our engines are suitable to this type of oil???

Im planning on putting synthetic in the transmission as well.

Ive seen this kind of oils improves economy. My only worry is that maybe is burned because being too thin.

Any experiences???

imho synthetic is absolute overkill in an aspire. synthetics on average are 2-3 times as expensive as a good dino will be. Do you think that your wear numbers will be 2-3 times less with a synthetic? Do you plan to run it 2-3 times longer? Will your mileage triple by using synthetic? Imho the answer to all these questions is a simple no. I could see indulging on a synthetic (even though i dont) in my 04 cobra that sees 20 psi and 6500 rpm frequently, or in my cummins that sees 30 psi and pulls 15k on a regular basis. Not trying to talk you out of a synthetic just trying to stir your mind a little. Whats your purpose of going to a synthetic?

I don't use synthetic because the cars weren't produced with synthetic and ford doesn't call for it. to me, synthetic is just way too thin, it might "stay cleaner looking" for longer, but i'd rather have a vehicle that works than looks clean.

being I have owned like 10 festivas and 3 aspires, including 2 aspires I gutted to do the spindle upgrade for my festiva back when I was 18 or so... these cars need good care with oil to make them last.. I always use synthetic now because if you get the thicker one (believe its 10-40) it works great. Its a red bottle and it says "high milage synthetic" that in my experience will give these eggs the extra mile.... providing your willing to spend 20.00 for 5qt which aint bad
