I think the front motor mounts on my car is broken. It happened yesterday at a stoplight, all of the sudden there was a shuddering and it sounded like something was bouncing in my engine compartment. It does not make any noise in neutral, reverse or park. I went straight home and looked with the hood up and the engine does jump about an inch when put into drive from the front of the car. I have been looking around and cannot find anything on Rockauto that matches what I have in the repair manual and read one other post with part numbers but those numbers don't match what my Ford manual says. I found one site but need a little help picking between them. I have an automatic, 1997, so I am guessing that I need the A2655, Right Hand Engine Mount, and possibly A5203, Auto Trans mount. Again, neither of these parts match the numbers that I have in my Ford factory repair manual.

LangBardr,

These part numbers would not match the P/Ns listed in the Ford factory repair manual because I don't think that the website you posted sells OEM parts. After market parts will have a different part number then OEM parts.

For instance, OEM Ford part numbers are nine to ten characters in length and typically end with a letter or two (i.e. **BZ-6028-A)

I would suggest calling your dealership and asking for the respective part numbers and either buying the parts from them or an OEM Ford parts site. I think that fordpartsgiant.com is one of them that people recommended to me.

Good luck man! fordaspire/banana.gif

Does anyone know if the auto trans mounts have the center hole or the off set hole? The pic in the manual does not show a difference but everything is labeled as both, but they have differences. It will take a few days to ship and I wont have a car if I take it apart now to see. I'm hoping that someone has done this before and knows.

We're in the same boat, I need a new rear transmission mount, but I drive a standard so its probably not the same part #..

I'm thinking about just parking my spire for a week while I fill the existing mount with 3m window weld and let it cure.

I'm in the same boat - need the front trans mount - Autozone can get it for about $40 but I got a buddy that runs an old fashioned real parts store - you know where the guy that sells you the part actually knows what you're talking about when you describe it to him - and he says he can't even get it for me so I'm wondering if Autozone even has the right trans mount?

I've been calling, emailing, and leaving messages for the people at Festiva Motor Sport because they have both mounts listed for $28. The rear one does not match the pic that I have, figures since I need both, but the front looks right. The only problem is they never answer or get back to me. Would other cars with this engine have the same mounts?

Autozone has the right ones. I've bought three ftom them this year. For three different aspires. Smaller parts stores won't have it. I get parts for my 1964 cadillac from advance auto parts and they fit every time and are pretty inexpensive. power brake booster was $120 vs $385 plus shipping and ten days of down time at Nortwestern auto parts, my local antique parts store.

The problem with the autozone one is that it is only for manual, they only have one listed and it says manual.

I found these on Race Pages, I know one of these says manual to but ignore that one, the 2 Westar ones are what I'm looking at buying. I know the holes are different so I was hoping that someone who has done this could confirm that these have holes in the right spots for an automatic transmission. Thanks.

have you tried ebay?

also why not pull it out and fill it with a pourable urethane and let it cure? Then you will have a better mount too.

The only ones on Ebay are all for manual trannies. /sigh. I think those listed on Race Pages are correct, I was hoping someone that has an auto that has done this before would stop by the post and tell me if those really are the correct ones. I have given up on FMS, wouldn't even buy something from their ebay store now.
