Helllo i have a 97 aspire , 192,000 miles on it well about month ago it started sputtering while taking off or anytime i go more then 25% throttle . My 4 month old belden napa premium wires were bad so replaced them today thinking that was causing it but after replacing them its still doin it. Pulled out 2 off the plugs which were the two that the wires were arcin on and they looked good. It seems to do it twice as bad once car is all the way warmed up. Any one have any ideas

Yep it has oringinal tps yet . All sensors are orig on the car lol . Could the tps cause what i described in 1st post? Once i get the car moving , and bak out of throttle it runs smooth. Give it some gas and it starts sputtering bad.

Yes my first choice is the tps, my second choice is the idle air controller.
A lot of people think the idle air controller only affects the car at idle, or when cold but this is not always true. It affects driveability through larger range than that. Once you have a car that has a known good working idle air controller, unplug it once and see how the car acts even after your moving well along, modulate the throttle and see how laggy it will have become.
I say replace your tps, you already gotten all the money your ever going to get out of the first one, and if you do the work yourself you'll have saved enough money just on the labor cost alone to justify the upgrade. Even if that's not it, it will be soon. Are you not setting any codes?, you've got to be, that will narrow it down for you. Swing into one of the big box autoparts franchises and have them diagnose it for you for free. Write it down.

Had auto zone check the codes and its showin a Misfire cyl 1 which is the cyl that had the bad plug wire but just put new ones on yesterday so its not the wires , and i pulled cyl 1 and 2 plugs and they look great, checked the gap and its .041. What do u think spark related or fuel?

Did that stop it from setting the code again? could be either, did you change the cap and rotor as well? Sea foam it to clean those tired old injectors, rings and valves. Hopefully it's not a burnt valve.

Well i put sea foam throu vac line and put bout half in tank , im gonna do it again thru vac line since it has already improved quite a bit. When engine is cold is still sputters really bad but when engine is fully warmed up it run s almost completely normal again. Also the bottom vac line on egr valve , had a big crack in it (almost broke in half) so fixed that and the nipple that vac lin goes on was completely pluged shut from carbon buildup so took care of that also and check engine lit is off now . What is causin it to sputter so bad when its cold?

my guess would be an exhaust valve. when its cold its not seating right, then it warms up and seats better, but not complete. but complete enough so it runs decent. thats how it was on my geo metro i had. i just got fed up with it and replaced the head with a known good one at the junkyard. i had the old one rebuilt twice and i was tired of taking it apart. i have a head on my parts engine i could probably get rid of if need be. im hoping for the best for ya.
